Quite often there are work sites that use an office trailer as an office. There are other instances when office trailers are used as well. Some corporations use these modules where use is more of a temporary situation. Other times these modules are used because they aren’t occupied fully during the work or more specifically, work shifts. In the building and construction industries, an office trailer is used more often than not. Rather than transport drawings, blueprints, permits and other legal and pertinent information, there must be some sort of an office on site. A permit must be on the premises at all times. So just think of the offices where you have worked and now imagine the things that you would need on a construction or other building site, including a break or lunch room. There are even times when teams will hold their meetings at the site.
These office trailer sites need to be properly designed to be as efficient as possible due to the lack of space on these sites. Desk top, printer, fax, scan, copy machine, telephone, peg board, chairs, a table, drafting table, desks and any other equipment and storage for supplies ( including at times building materials) must be strategically placed inside to all fit.
At times, there are large projects going on and office staff works at the site on full-time. So think again of all the things you would need to have to run an office smoothly when being on the site all day and every day. Most office trailers have to place partitions to separate architects, engineers, purchasers, suppliers, CPA’s, and other pertinent personnel unique to that specific industry and/or trade. This is to give privacy for these workers to be able to focus on their work.
In your office trailer, it is a wise decision to utilize every single area for something useful. An example is shelving units mounted on work surfaces. There is usually one wall space that is a great place for shelving and any other type of organization bins that is unique to the projects industry. There is typically not enough room for free style storage units aside from a file cabinet. Since there are so many people in and out of the office trailer, make sure your cabinet file is locked when not in use. Today’s day and age do not use as much paper as they used to, however, Space is at such a premium.
